Northwest Minnesota Arts Council (NWMAC) Update Featuring Sherri Kukowski (4/23/19)

by Glen Braget on June 13, 2020

Sherri Kukowski is originally from the Wannaska, MN area, is a mosaic artist and teacher. She started teaching in Badger public school 16 years ago and is the junior high and high school math teacher. There is no art department, so she and another teacher started an art club shortly after she arrived. The Art Club includes an art encampment in the spring.

Sherri approached the city in early 2016 to present her idea of a Badger “Heritage Wall” that would tell the story of Badger through stained glass depictions. “The huge mosaic wall has brought together community members of all ages for the last 3 years.

Sherri Is the 2019 NWMAC Arts Advocate of the Year award winner.
