State seeks comment on Public Radio Arts & Cultural Heritage Legacy funding

by markjohnson on February 2, 2012

Thanks to funding support from Minnesota’s Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund, also known as the Legacy Fund,  Pioneer 90.1 has been able to produce great programming including  Minnesota Arts on the Road, featuring MN musicians performing live in our area. Funding also is used for our Write On series, and for our series on the Northwest MN Arts Council to inform you about artistic and cultural events in our community.

Funds also help statewide projects like MN90: Minnesota History in 90 Seconds.  Now the state wants your feedback on these programs.

The survey should take about two minutes.  There are just four simple questions.  This survey may impact future funding for Pioneer 90.1.  You can help and you don’t have to provide any personal information.  Just click the Clean Water Land and Legacy Amendment logo below on this page.   Thank you for your continued support!

I think 90.1 is a great voice in the northwestern corner of the state. Not only that, but it allows our school to give students a chance to be on the radio and see if it is something they might be interested in.

90.1 is a great local service…it provides an avenue for local input from the community as well as an opportunity for students to explore and experience the field of broadcasting. The area is fortunate to have and enjoy local access for the people of northwestern Minnesota. The diverse programming also gives people exposure to a different dimension of radio programs not available on commercial radio.

Pioneer 90.1 adds enjoyment to every afternoon in my studio! The variety of music–some fresh, some familiar–and the wit of Ron West brighten any day. Northwest Minnesota is fortunate to have a wonderful resource like this radio station in the community, adding diversity of music, information, and programming to the area. Thanks!
