• Winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award, the stage production of “Doubt: A Parable” will be presented Friday, October 17th and Saturday, October 18th at the Empire Arts Center of downtown Grand Forks. Show times each evening are 7:30.

• An “Art and Wine” walk will be held Saturday, October 18th in downtown East Grand Forks and Grand Forks from 1 until 4:30 pm. There is also an artist’s reception this weekend at the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council’s “Art Gallery at the River Walk Center in downtown East Grand Forks, from 1pm to 5pm during the Grand Cities Art and Wine Walk.

• A free movie is being shown at the Grand Forks Public Library on Saturday, October 18th at 2:00 pm. The movie is: “Mr. Peabody and Sherman.”

• The “Mother Goose Storybook Theater” continues at the Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks this Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm. The fun-filled event requires registration and is part of a six-week session for children, ages 3 until 6.

• The “Applefest” is Saturday the 18th in Alexandria, Minnesota – with catapult demonstrations, a quilt show and auction, horse drawn wagon rides, pumpkin carving by a master carver, kids pie eating contests, bungee and trampoline rides.

• There’s also an “Apple Festival” in Hastings, Minnesota on Saturday and Sunday.

• Singer Richard Colson Baker better known by his stage name Machine Gun Kelly (or MGK for short), will appear onstage at the Sanford Center in Bemidji, on Tuesday, October 21st at 8:00 pm.

• Singer Amy Grant will perform onstage at the Sanford Center in Bemidji on Wednesday, October 22nd. Show time is 7:00 pm.

Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot was voted the most significant English language play of the 20th Century and is being performed at the Burtness Theater on the campus of the University of North Dakota. Performances are Friday, October 3rd and Saturday, October 4th at 7pm.

The murder mystery theater “You have the Right to Remain Dead” continues this weekend at the Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks. Performances by the Greater Grand Forks Community Theater are Friday and Saturday the 3rd and the 4th at 7:30 pm.

The “Mother Goose Storybook Theater” continues on Saturday, October 4th at the Fire Hall Theater at 2pm. Space is limited to 14 children, ages 3-6.

The Greater Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra presents “Nordic Expressions”, at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks. The performance begins at 7:30 pm, Saturday, October 4th. Edvard Grieg’s most heartfelt chamber-music masterpieces will be featured.

The Myra Presents… Sunday Concerts in the Galleries 2014 at the North Dakota Museum of Art in Grand Forks. Sunday, October 5th at 2pm – Featured performers are the “Pacifica Quartet.” More information at ndmoa.com

Sunday, October 5th, there’s a dinner and a movie called “God’s Not Dead” at the United Free Lutheran Church in Greenbush. The Spaghetti Dinner begins at at 5pm and the movie at 7pm.

Arts Calendar September 25 – September 28

The murder mystery, “You Have the Right to Remain Dead”, continues this coming weekend at the Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks. Performances by the Greater Grand Forks Community Theater are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 with a 2:00 pm matinee on Sunday afternoon. Tickets are available at the door.

A Mother Goose Storybook Theater for children will be given at the Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks, this Saturday, September 27th at 2:00 pm. Space is limited to 14 children, ages 3 to 6.

The Grand Forks Music Chorales will present “Sacred Music from Two Centuries”, on Friday, September 26th at 8:00 pm at St. Michael’s Catholic Church of downtown Grand Forks. The concert features the Chamber Choir under the direction of Dr. Joshua Bronfman. Tickets start at 15-dollars and are available at the door.

The 40th Annual Goose Festival is this weekend in Middle River, Minnesota. Events include live music, art and crafts, children’s activities, a parade and many more events and activities.
