Moose Fest” in Karlstad, Minnesota runs Friday, August 8th through Sunday, August 10th. The “Johnson Strings” perform Friday night at 6:30. Saturday’s events include a parade at 10:30, free “mule cart” rides, children’s games, crafters, car show, the “Johnson Strings” performing at 5pm and a youth dance Saturday evening at the Moose Park, in Karlstad for “Moose Fest”.

• Oklee, Minnesota’s “Market Day” is Saturday, August 9th. Events include a quilt show, crafts, car and tractor show, the “Woodpicks” will perform on stage at 6:30 along with the group “Idlewheel.”

• “Viking Good Old Days” are coming up on August 15th, 16th and 17th in Viking, Minnesota. Events include a parade, outdoor movie and a volunteer fire department supper.

• The “Artist Unlimited Art Show” is on display at the Kittson County Museum in Lake Bronson, Minnesota through August.

• The musical “Spring Awakening” continues this weekend at the Empire Arts Center of downtown Grand Forks – Friday, August 8thst and Saturday, August 9th. Curtain time each evening is 7:30 pm.

• The Arts Partnership of Moorhead/Fargo is sponsoring the second annual downtown “Chalk Fest”, on Monday, August 11th from 2 until 7:30 pm at Island Park in Fargo. This event provides food, music, and art for all ages.

• The stage musical “Tarzan”, based on Disney’s epic musical adventure, is being performed at “The Stage” at Island Park in Fargo – Friday, August 8th through Sunday, August 10th.

• “Heritage Days” is coming up in East Grand Forks, August 14th, 15th and 16th.

• And “Ox Cart Days” are coming up in Crookston, Wednesday, August 13th through Saturday, August 16th.

In Roseau, Minnesota on Thursday, July 31st, the Riverview Park Concert Night presents “Harmony Fire” from 6:30 until 8 pm – bring your lawn chairs, for an evening of outdoor music and fun.

Thursday, July 31st through Saturday, August 2nd it’s “River Fest” in Thief River Falls. Events include live music on Friday evening, August 1st at Hartz Park with Nicholas David. There are crafts, local bands, children’s activities and a Kiwanis pancake breakfast Saturday morning.

Beginning August 1st and running through the month of August – the “Artist Unlimited Art Show” will be displayed at the Kittson County Museum in Lake Bronson, Minnesota.

Angle Days at the Northwest Angle in Minnesota will be held Friday and Saturday, August 1st and 2nd There’s a “Walleye Ball” Tournament, Quilt Raffle, Dessert Challenge, Chili Cook-off, live music & food.

The Empire Arts Center of downtown Grand Forks presents the musical “Spring Awakening” on Friday, August 1st and Saturday, August 2nd. Curtain time is 7:30 pm at the Empire Arts Center.

The Arts Partnership of Moorhead/Fargo will sponsor the second annual downtown “Chalk Fest”, on Monday, August 11, 2014 from 2:00-7:30 at Island Park in Fargo. This event provides food, music, and art for all ages.

• The Marshall County Fair in Warren, Minnesota continues this weekend, through Sunday. Todd Armstrong Shows will be on the midway. There’s a huge fireworks display Friday evening, other events include music on the free stage, a talent show and chariot races, a tractor pull and demolition derby.

• “Summer Fest 2014” is this weekend in Red Lake Falls, Friday through Sunday. Friday’s events include a beauty contest and live music from 9pm to midnight. Saturday activities include a 5K/10K run and walk, motorcycle run, a parade at 11 am, children’s games and more live music in the evening.

• The “Blues on the Red” summer concert series continues this weekend, on Saturday evening, July 26th, from 6 until 10 at the Town Square in downtown Grand Forks. The free event will feature “Reverend Raven and the Chain Smoking Altar Boys.”

• “Halloween in July” will be held at the Turtle River Sate Park in Arvilla, ND – just west of Grand Forks, on Saturday, July 26th at 7pm. The event is free for children and adults. There’ll be a costume contest in the park amphitheater.

• The North Dakota Museum of Art presents “St. Paul and the Broken Bones” this coming Tuesday, July 29th at the NDMOA on the campus of UND in Grand Forks. Performance time is 7pm.

• The Warroad Summer Theater will present the “Summer Popcorn Players”, July 29th through August 2nd at the Warroad High School.

• In Roseau, the Riverview Park “Concert Night with Harmony”, will be held from 6:30 until 8pm, on Thursday, July 31st.

• The “Arts Partnership” will sponsor the second annual Downtown “Chalk Fest”, on Monday, August 11th, from 2:00 until 7:30pm at Island Park in Fargo. Children of all ages are welcome to attend, with activities, music, games and live music.

• The 2014 Summer Concert in the Garden Series continues next Tuesday, July 29th at the North Dakota Museum of Art, as “St. Paul and the Broken Bones” will be performing on stage at 7:00 pm. “St. Paul and the Broken Bones”, next Tuesday night at the NDMOA.

• The Pennington County Fair runs this weekend, through Sunday in Thief River Falls. Among the events, there’s a bull ride Friday and Saturday evening, live music and a demolition derby Sunday afternoon.

• “RiverFest” is this weekend, through Sunday, in Drayton, North Dakota. Saturday’s events include a parade at 11 am, free swimming, a rib dinner and fireworks. Sunday’s events include a horseshoe tournament.

• The Kittson County Fair runs this weekend through Sunday in Hallock, Minnesota. Live entertainment on the free stage includes the Cathy Erickson band.

• “Art in the Park” will be held on Sunday, July 20th in Roseau, Minnesota, at the Pioneer Farm from 10 until 5.

• The Roseau County Fair runs next week, from Sunday, July 20th through Friday, July 25th in Roseau, with live entertainment and music, a rodeo, demolition derby and carnival.

• Greater Grand Forks “SPA”, the summer performing arts group, present “Peter Pan”, Friday, July 18th through Tuesday, July 22nd at Red River High School in Grand Forks. Performances times are 7 pm with a 2 pm Sunday matinee.

• The Greater Grand Forks “Art and Wine” walk will be held on Saturday, July 19th from 1 to 5 pm in downtown East Grand Forks and Grand Forks.

Arts Calendar

• The 2014 Summer Concert in the Garden Series continues next Tuesday, July 15th at the North Dakota Museum of Art – located on the UND campus in Grand Forks. Brooklyn, New York’s “Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds” will be performing on stage at 7:00 pm next Tuesday night at the NDMOA.

• The Warroad Summer Theater’s production of, “Little Shop of Horrors”, will take the stage at the Warroad High School. Performances are Thursday through Saturday of this weekend, with curtain time at 7:30 pm. There’s also a 2:00 pm matinee on Sunday, July 13th.

• Stephen, Minnesota’s “Summerfest Days” begins this Thursday, July 10th and runs through Sunday, July 13th. Events include a parade, displays, children’s games, food and live music.

• “Piano Man” Brent Hermans will perform at the Stephen Arts Center on Friday, July 11th. Performance time is 7:30pm and everyone is welcome.

• The Lake of the Woods County Fair runs through this Sunday in Baudette, Minnesota.

• The Polk County Fair runs this weekend, through Sunday at the fairgrounds in Fertile, Minnesota.

• Greater Grand Forks “SPA”, the Summer Performing Arts group will present “The Boy Friend.” Performances are Friday, July 11th through Monday, July 14th at Central High School in downtown Grand Forks. Evening performances begin at 7 pm with a 2 pm matinee on Sunday, July 13th.

• The Pembina County Fair runs through Sunday in Hamilton, North Dakota. Events include live music, chariot and chuck wagon races, demo-derby and carnival.

• A “Music Fest” is planned for this Sunday, from 1:30 until 4:30 at the Old Mill State Park in northwest Minnesota.

• Julianne and Dereck Hough dance on stage for the “Move Live on Tour” will perform at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks this Sunday night, July 13th at 7:00 pm. Styles range from ballroom to salsa to hip-hop.
