• Friday, March 17th – Two art exhibitions continue their run at the North Dakota Museum of Art (NDMOA) in Grand Forks. The exhibitions are “American Nile” – the story of migrant workers and their families in the Red River Valley – and “Snow Country Prison” – pictures of the internment camp near Mandan, ND. Upcoming at the NDMOA is “Family Day” on Saturday, March 25th. It runs from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon for children and their caregivers. Fun Day allows children to create art is free of charge. The NDMOA is on the University of North Dakota campus in Grand Forks.

• Saturday, March 18th – The musical group “Anda Union” will perform at Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls. Showtime is 7:00 pm. Anda Union is from Inner Mongolia in north China. Tickets are 5-dollars.

• Saturday, March 18th – A free movie will be shown at the Grand Forks Public Library beginning at 2:00 pm. The movie is “Moana.”

• Tuesday, March 21st through Thursday, March 23rd – The 24th Annual “ArtWise” elementary art show will be held, with over 3-thousand works of art from area children. The event runs from 4 until 8 each evening at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks.

• Thursday, March 23rd through Sunday, March 26th – The Greater Grand Forks Community Theater present “Leading Ladies”, a comedy by Ken Ludwig. Curtain time Thursday through Saturday is 7:30 pm with a 2:00 pm matinee on Sunday, March 26th at the Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks. More information at 701-746-0847.

Guest Tom Pearce, manager of the Inner Mongolian musical group “Anda Union”, shares his insights as it pertains to the groups educational tour of northwest Minnesota schools.” Anda Union will also perform a public concert, at the Lincoln High School Auditorium on Saturday, March 18th at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $5.00 and everyone is welcome to attend!

• December 17th – Greater Middle River Community Choir Presents “Darkness into Light-Experience: The Joy of Christmas” Concert. 7pm at the Heritage Christian School in Karlstad, MN.

• December 18th – Movie with Santa – Free Showing of “The Santa Claus”. Santa arrives at 5:30pm, movie at 6:30pm at the Ralph Engelstad Arena in Thief River Falls, MN.

• December 18th – Handel’s Messiah 4pm at the Methodist Church in Thief River Falls, MN.

• December 20th – High School Winter Program 7pm at the Badger School Gym in Badger, MN.

• December 17th and 18th – The performance of “Miracle on 34th Street” the radio version will be held at the Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks. Curtain time this Saturday is 7:00 pm with a Sunday matinee at 2:00 pm.

• December 17th and 18th – A “Christmas Carol” will be performed at Red River High School in Grand Forks. Performance time this Saturday is 7:00 pm with a Sunday performance at 4:00 pm.

• December 23rd – Friday Play Day for children at the Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks from 1 to 5 pm.

• Viking, Minnesota’s “Good Old Days” are scheduled for this weekend, August 15th, 16th and 17th. Events include a free outdoor movie Friday evening – “The Love Bug” beginning at 8:30 with free “S’mores” and popcorn. Saturday’s events include a parade at 10, a 5k run, thrashing and blacksmith demonstrations, a parade at 10, live music and a volunteer fire department supper – and Sunday there’s a corn feed.

• The “Artist Unlimited Art Show” continues at the Kittson County Museum in Lake Bronson, Minnesota through August.

• “Heritage Days” are this weekend in East Grand Forks, August 14th, 15th and 16th. Live music Friday evening. Saturday’s events include a Petting Zoo, Saw Mill, Antique Tractors & Machinery, Broom Making, Log Barn & Granary, display, Sons of Norway Viking Ship display, and railroad exhibits from the Northern Lights Railroad Museum and live music including North Country Fiddle and Dance.

• And “Ox Cart Days” are in Crookston this weekend, through Sunday, August 17th. Friday and Saturday, the Crookston Community Theater presents “Goldilocks and the Three Pigs” at the University of Minnesota campus. Also on Friday a beauty pageant, rib fest and Teen Dance. Saturday’s events include live music – the “American Roots Revue”, Classic Car and Torchlight Parade and Fireworks at 10:00 pm. Sunday afternoon there’s a concert by the group “Six Appeal.”

• The next “Art and Wine Walk” will be held on Saturday, August 16th in downtown East Grand Forks and Grand Forks. The event runs from 1 to 5 pm.

• Monday afternoon, August 18th, auditions will be held for “Beauty and the Beast” – a production of the Prairie Fire Children’s Theater. Auditions will be held in the Roseau School Theater.
