Glen Braget sits down with former pro wrestler Billy Jack Haynes to discuss what has been going on regarding a class action federal lawsuit he filed against World Wrestling Entertainment alleging the company fails to protect and educate its wrestlers on the dangers of serious head trauma, an issue that has also been a hot button issue in the NFL and NHL in recent years. Billy also discusses some of the health setbacks he’s endured through the years from working in the business. Cinderella: A Musical Performance” will be on stage at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks on Friday, June 26th. Curtain time is 7:00 pm.

• The 120th Norman County Fair is on now and runs through Sunday, June the 28th in Ada, MN.

• Two art exhibits, one called “Armando Ramos: Something Absurd” and the other exhibit titles “Jill Brody: Hidden in Plain Sight” are now on display at the North Dakota Museum of Art in Grand Forks. The NDMOA is located on the UND campus.

• The Greater Grand Forks Fair runs through Sunday, June 28th.

• On stage at the Fire Hall Theater of downtown Grand Forks – “A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream.” Curtain time on Saturday, June 27th is 7:00 pm, with a Sunday matinee at 2:00 pm on June 28th.

• The summer music series “Blues on the Red” continues this weekend in downtown Grand Forks. Performing on stage from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Saturday, June 27th are Ken Valdez and Becky Barksdale.

• The North Dakota Museum of Art kicks off their 2015 Summer Concerts in the Garden Series on Tuesday, June 30th. Featured will be Minneapolis musician and singer Erik Koskinen. Live music starts at 6:00 pm.

• The 122nd Pembina County Fair runs July 9th through July 11th in Hamilton, ND.

• The Polk County Fair, in Fertile, MN will run July 8th through July 12th.

• The Goodridge Centennial Celebration is coming up, July 3rd through the 5th in Goodridge, MN. Events include a parade, family & Children’s events, food and live music.

Kristin Eggerling lives in Hallock, MN, the mother of two and a freelance writer in northwestern Minnesota. She most recently worked in the public health field as the administrator for Quin Community Health Services which serves the counties of Kittson, Marshall, Pennington, Red Lake and Roseau.
Kristin has worked at the Minnesota Senate as the administrator of the Environment and Natural Resources and Agriculture Budget Committee, taught sociology at the University of Minnesota-Crookston, held a variety of positions on numerous legislative campaigns and helped coordinate watershed education efforts in the Red River Valley. She has also served on the Citizen’s Advisory Committee of the LCMR (Legislative Commission on Minnesota Resources). She is currently the Co-Chair of the Northwest Regional Sustainable Development Partnership Board, in additional to being the chair of the Hallock Library Board and the Kittson County DFL. Kristin holds a B.A. in sociology from Augsburg College and an M.A. in sociology from the University of Manitoba.
Eggerling is an author. Her latest book is “Breath of Wilderness – The life of Sigurd Olson.
