The 4OnTheFloor are best known for each member playing a bass drum and for writing all their songs in 4/4 time, Hence the name 4OnTheFloor.

The seeds of the band were first planted back in 2009 when singer Gabriel Douglas met Guitarist James Gould In Duluth, Minnesota. From there they moved to Minneapolis, added Bassist Chris Holm and drummer Mark Larson and became the 4OnTheFloor Band. In 2011 they released their debut 4×4 and soon started earning the respect of Minnesota and Upper Midwest music fans and writers alike. Since then they have also played shows across the United States opening for such acts as Willie Nelson, Sugarland, Drive By Truckers, Steve Martin (yes that Steve Martin) as well as fellow well known Minnesota acts like Trampled by turtles, Retribution Gospel Choir and former member of the Replacements and current member of Guns N Roses Tommy Stinson. They have also had their music featured in programs like ABC’s Nashville and A & E’s Duck Dynasty. In April 2013, the band released their latest album, Spirit of Minneapolis.

4OnTheFloor has a local connection in the land of Pioneer 90.1 KSRQ. Frontman Gabe Douglas grew up in the Stephen-Arygle area of Northwestern Minnesota
