• Sunday, February 21st – Thief River Falls Concert Association presents “California Dreamin”, Pop/Rock Hits of the 60’s. Showtime is 7:30pm in the Lincoln High School Auditorium in Thief River Falls.

• Saturday & Sunday, February 20th & 21st – The stage production of “Harvey” will be performed at Red River High School in Grand Forks. Curtain time is 7 pm Saturday and 2 pm Sunday.

• Saturday, February 21st – A free movie with be shown at the Grand Forks Public Library, beginning at 2 pm.

• Saturday & Sunday, February 20th & 21st – The International Eelpout Festival is being held this weekend in Walker, MN at Leech Lake.

• Sunday, February 21st – A free lecture series called “Entertaining History 2016” will be continue this Sunday at 2pm in the Myra Museum/Campbell House in Grand Forks. Retired UND professor Dr. Ken Dawes will speak on the topic “German POW’s in Grand Forks during WWII.”

• Thursday, March 3rd – Thief River Falls Concert Association presents the International String Trio. The trio consists of violin, guitar and bass. Showtime is 7:30pm in the Lincoln High School Auditorium in Thief River Falls.

• Sunday, March 6th – The Greater Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra will perform at 2 pm at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks.

• Sunday, February 14th – A Country, Gospel & Old Tyme music jam will be held on Sunday, February 14th, Valentine’s Day, from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Greenbush Community Center in Greenbush, Minnesota.

• Thursday, February 18th – The Confucius Institute at the University of Minnesota Crookston will present an Evening of Chinese New Year Celebration on Thursday, February 18th, at 5 pm in Bede Ballroom at UMC. The event is open to the public and includes a dinner, folk songs, folk dance and other entertainment.

• Sunday, February 21st – The Thief River Falls Concert Association presents “California Dreamin”, Pop/Rock Hits of the 60’s. Showtime is 7:30pm in the Lincoln High School Auditorium in Thief River Falls.

• Saturday, February 13th – The Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals presents the return of the “Frosty Bobber” winter carnival in downtown East Grand Forks and Grand Forks. Events include a Soup-R-Chili Cook-Off, educational tent for children, cardboard sledding, sleigh rides, cocoa and s’more stations and other outdoor winter activities for the entire family. All activities are free with the exception of the ice fishing tournament.

• Friday, February 12th – The stage production “Falsettos” continues this weekend at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks. Performance times are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm.

• Friday, February 5th“Hairball” – an 80’s music tribute band will perform at 8:00 pm at the Alerus Center.
• Friday, February 5th the Ludzik and Rerick art exhibit will be held at “The Guild” 311 Demers Avenue in downtown Grand Forks. The exhibit is open from 5:30 until 8:00 pm and is free to the public.
• Friday, February 5th a traveling art exhibit opens at the Kittson County Museum in Lake Bronson, Minnesota. It’s called “Minnesota Disasters.”
• Saturday, February 6th the 54th Annual “Feast of Nations” will be held at 5:00 pm at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks.
• Saturday, February 6th a “Sweetheart Ball” will be held at the Eagles Club in Thief River. Dance from 7 – 11 p.m. to music by Cathy Erickson Band. Lunch will be served at 8:45 p.m., food that’s donated and catered by David Lee, with free will offering going to the local Food Shelf. All welcome.
• Saturday, February 6th an art exhibition called “Songs for Spirit Lake” opens at the North Dakota Museum of Art in Grand Forks. The NDMOA is on the UND campus.
• Saturday, February 6th Local artist, Adam Kemp, will be directing an interactive month-long exhibition called “Two Art-Parties” at the Third Street Gallery downtown, Grand Forks. That runs through February 13th.
• Tuesday, February 9th a Fat Tuesday/ Mardi Gras Karaoke event from 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm in the Evergreen Grill at the University of Minnesota – Crookston campus. Gumbo & cornbread, Cajun shrimp noodle bowls will be available. The event is open to UMC students.

Community Calendar

• Friday, January 29th the musical “The Drowsy Chaperone” has its final three performances, this Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm and a Sunday matinee at 2:00 pm in the Fire Hall Theater of downtown Grand Forks.
• Saturday, January 30th a live poetry event called “Spoken word” will be held in Grand Forks at “The Guild” – 311 Demers Avenue in downtown Grand Forks. The event begins at 8:00 pm.
• Monday, February 1st the Athens Boys Choir” will perform at 7p.m. in Kiehle Auditorium at the University of Minnesota, Crookston campus. Admission is free.
• Thursday, February 4th the first performance of the Tony Award winning musical “Falsettos”, at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks. Showtime is 7:30. Additional performances are Friday and Saturday – February 5th and 6th at 7:30 pm.
