Thursday, June 9th through Sunday, June 12th

• “Aladdin and His Magic Lamp” will be performed by the Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre on Friday June 17th at 7pm. The performance will be given at the Karlstad, MN School.

• “Polish Day” takes place on Sunday, June 19th in Florian, Minnesota. A “Polka Mass” is scheduled for 10:30am, with a Polish Style Dinner served from 11:30am to 1:00pm. Events include Clown, Face Painting, Water Wars, Horse Shoe Tourney and live music from Cathy Erickson and her band from 1:00 to 4:00pm.

• The TRF Area Community Theatre presents “Into the Woods”, June 20th through the 25th at the Northland Theater in TRF.

• The Grand Forks Parks and Recreation Department presents their annual “Movies in the Park” starting Tuesday, June 14th at Riverside Park. The free featured movie is “Jumanji” and show time is at sundown.

• The Greater Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra will hold their annual “Century Club Dinner” on Thursday, June 16th at 6:00 pm. More information at 218-399-3001.

Community Calendar

 Saturday, May 7th – Carrie Underwood and Corbin Easton perform in Grand Forks at the Ralph Engelstad Arena. Showtime begins at 7:00 pm.

 Wednesday, May 11th – The University of Minnesota – Crookston Campus will host the annual Junior High Music Festival from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Bede Ballroom, Sargeant Student Center and Kiehle Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. Several local junior high bands and choirs will perform.

 Thursday, May 12th – The Fire Hall Theater is the site for “Arsenic and Old Lace.” Show times on the 12th, 13th and 14th are 7:30 pm with a Sunday, May 15th matinee at 2:00 pm.

 Thursday, May 12th – Roseau Elementary Spring Program for grades 1-2 and 3. Two show times are scheduled, at10:00 am and 2:00 pm at the Roseau School Theatre in Roseau, MN.

 Friday, May 13th – Elementary Spring Concert begins at 2:00 pm at the Badger School Gym in Badger, MN.

 Saturday, May 14th – 2nd Annual Lake Bronson Adventure Race begins at 9:30am at the State Park. Teams competition in Canoeing, Biking, Walking and Running,

 Saturday, May 14th – The Senior High Play “Murder at the Pie Auction.” The 5:30pm Dinner Theatre-Fundraiser is in Lancaster, MN.

 Saturday, May 21st – Norwegian Heritage Week Events begin Monday May 16th. Sponsored by Sons of Norway of Thief River Falls.

• Saturday, April 30th. – 1964: The Beatles Tribute will be onstage at the Chester Fritz Auditorium at UND in Grand Forks. Showtime is 7:30 pm.

• Sunday, May 1st. – The UND Department of Music will perform “Cinderella” at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks. Curtain time is 3:00 pm.

• Tuesday, May 10th. – Crookston, MN author Kim Wagner will host a discussion and book signing event at the Crookston Public Library. That begins at 6:00 pm.

• Thursday, May 12th. – The stage production “Arsenic and Old Lace” opens at the Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks. Show times Thursday and Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th are 7:30 pm with a Sunday matinee on May 15th at 2:00 pm.

• Sunday, May 15th. – A concert by the “Popple Ridge Pickers” will be held at the Crookston Evangelical Covenant Church. Performance time is 6:00 pm and everyone is welcome to attend.

Ampers presents Bemijigamaag Powwow Saturday April 23

You’re invited to Minnesota’s second annual Bemijigamaag Powwow, April 23 at Sanford Center in Bemidji. Grand entries are at 1 and 7 PM. This is a free event, presented by Ampers and supported by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
