Roseau, MN resident Karen Engevik is the 2015 “Star Artist of the Year.” The award is one of many recently announced by the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council (NWMAC) at its recent Spring Art Exhibition in Thief River Falls, MN. Karen shares her thoughts on art, an artist gift shop in Roseau and her winning a $5,000 prize for being named Star Artist of the Year.

Regional artist LaVonne Forsberg of Thief River Falls, the 2014 Northwest Minnesota Arts Council’s (NWMAC)“Star Artist of the Year”, currently has her works of watercolor paintings on display at the NWMAC Art Gallery and Shop in downtown East Grand Forks (River Walk Cinema). LaVonne shares her philosophy of painting, of artistic expression and her efforts to create expressive pieces on canvas and through her production of stained glass items.
