The “Weekly Arts Calendar” is a weekly listing of events and activities that highlight the arts, music and culture of the region and within Minnesota

Thursday, January 25th through Sunday, January 28th

 Saturday, January 27th – The BEO String Quartet will perform at Red River High School in Grand Forks, as part of the All City Orchestra Concert. Performance time is 7:00pm.

 Saturday, January 27th – The Museum of Art, on the UND campus in Grand Forks, will host “Family Day” from 10:00am to 12:00noon. It’s free and open to children and their caregivers. This Family Day the museum will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of ArtWise! Work with ArtWise artists making puzzles, zipper pulls, and jellyfish hangers, paint and create snowmen, lacing and more.

 Thursday, February 1st through Sunday, February 4th – The Greater Grand Forks Community Theater presents “Over the River and Through the Woods” at the Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks. Show time is 7:30pm with a Sunday matinee at 2:00pm.

 Friday, February 2nd – Author Jill (Musburger) Johnson will give a talk about her book, titled “Little Minnesota in World War II.” A former soldier from Halma, Minnesota will also be on hand. The presentation begins at 1:00pm, at the First Lutheran Church in Karlstad, Minnesota.

 February 1-3 & 8-10 – “Hand to God” will be performed at the Empire Arts Center of downtown Grand Forks. Showtime each evening at 7:30pm. The performance has an adult theme.

 Saturday, February17th – Hayes Lake Ice Fishing Derby All Day Family Event from 10:00am to 3:00pm at Hayes Lake in Wannaska, Minnesota. There’s a five dollar entry fee, with prizes. Minnows will be availa

Candace Osborn of Ada, Minnesota is an artist from Ada, MN. She has her works on display within the current exhibition of art at the NWMAC Riverwalk Gallery. Candace discusses her early interest in art and her current style of production.

Saturday, 20th – Candlelight Ski & Snowshoe 5:30-8:30pm Start at the Visitor Center and ski or snowshoe by candlelight. Lake Bronson State Park —Lake Bronson
Tuesday, 23rd – The Fire Hall Theater of Grand Forks brings their Cabaret to the Half Brothers Brewing Company of downtown Grand Forks. The musical event features singers, comic acts and dancers. The show begins at 5:30. Proceeds go toward programming at the Fire Hall Theater.
Saturday, 27th – Candlelight Snowshoe 5:30-8:30 pm Meet at the picnic shelter. Snowshoe the trail by candlelight. Hayes Lake State Park —Roseau
Saturday, 27th – The North Dakota Museum of Art will host their monthly Family Art Day. Children of all ages and adults come together to work on projects that help us understand the Museum exhibit or learn about techniques and materials. The free event runs from 10 am until 12 noon. The museum is located on the UND campus in Grand Forks.
Sunday, 28th – An art exhibit titled “A Piece of My Mind” will open at the UND Memorial
