Ron West chats with Julia Brown and Alayna Barnes of the “Playwright’s Center” of Minneapolis, MN.

The Playwrights’ Center serves playwrights in more ways than any other organization in the country. Their seven fellowship programs support 40 writers each year by providing development workshops, career opportunities, and professional mentorship. Fellowships serve writers at all professional levels, from the early-career Jerome and Many Voices Fellows to the more experienced McKnight Fellows and Core Writers. Their membership program serves nearly 2,000 writers around the world, from the earliest beginner to the most experienced professional.
Through online and in-person resources—classes, seminars, articles, readings, and a searchable database of submission opportunities—all self-identified playwrights have a place to come for educational opportunities, professional guidance, and community.
Julia Brown is the Artistic Programs Administrator, overseeing the fellowship programs. Alayna Barnes is the Office Manager, working closely with the membership and education departments.
