Polish Joe worked behind the scenes at the American Wrestling Association from the mid 80s all the way up to the promotions demise in the early 90s.  August 10th – 13th Moosefest in Karlstad, MN to include: a pie contest, hypnotist, Ribfest, parade, live music, mud volleyball, dueling pianos, fireworks and games for children.

 August 13th Strathcona Fall Festival in Strathcona, MN. Parade 10:30am, Dinner 11am, Musical Variety Show 12:30pm.

 August 17th Gazebo Concert Night in Roseau, MN from 6:30pm – 8pm. Music by Jordynn Johnsrud.

 August 18th Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre of Roseau presents “Pinocchio.” Curtain time is 7pm at the Roseau School Theater.

 August 12th -19th The Empire Arts Center of downtown Grand Forks presents “Heathers: The Musical.” Curtain time is 7:30 each evening.

 August 12th History Alive in the Forks, a walking tour of historic downtown Grand Forks will be held, beginning at 1 pm. The starting point of the free tour is the downtown Town Square.

 August 16th – 20th OX CART DAYS in Crookston. Events include tractor pull, bed races, pig races, live music and dance, Torchlight Parade, Corn & Brat Feed, RibFest, airboat rides on the Red Lake River, Ice Cream Social at UMC and more.

 August 17th – 20th HERITAGE DAYS in East Grand Forks. Events include live music, heritage exhibitions, a parade, children’s games and much more for the entire family.

Kristina Gray, member of the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council (NWMAC) Board of Directors. Kristina is active with the “Save the Carnegie” in Crookston, MN. During the city’s annual “Ox Cart Days” celebration, the Carnegie building will be open on Thursday, Aug. 17 and Friday Aug. 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 19th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Area/Regional artists work on display: North wing – artists: Irene Bertils, Tim Bhajjan, Marti Newquist, and eight high school art students work (Gary Stegman) South wing – photographers: Chuck Bush, (EGRFKS) Steve Hannah, Linda Swenson (Crookston) East wing – fire department memorabilia, (area set aside for kids drawing and coloring) Lower level – LaVonne Forsberg’s art and refreshments for sale This year’s Carnegie events theme ties in to the 2017 Ox Cart Days theme of saluting fire fighters: “Fired UP at the Carnegie.”
