Betty Crocker is a Minnesota icon. The ficticious homemaker is now 85 years old and continues to give us tips and recipes for quality food preparation. Also in the show:

Dan Patch was a famous Minnesota harness-racing horse. He has a street named after him at the Minnesota State Fair.

With the onset of the Civil War, a voluntary infantry was started. Minnesota ranked as a state with one of the highest enlistment rates. The infantry took part in one of the bloodiest battles at Bull Run. Also in the show: F. Scott Fitzgerald was a Minnesota author. Jim tells of the high points and the low points in his life.
