“Write On” with William Kent KruegerOn this edition of “Write On,” a conversation with St. Paul author William Kent Krueger, recorded at the Thief River Falls Public Library.

Krueger writes a mystery series set in the north woods of Minnesota.  His protagonist is Cork O’Connor, the former sheriff of Tamarack County and a man of mixed Irish and Ojibwe heritage.  Krueger’s latest book, Northwest Angle, was a 2012 Minnesota Book Award finalist. The twelfth book in his series, Trickster’s Point, will be released this coming August.

Write On is a series of conversations with Minnesota authors, historians, poets, and filmmakers, supported by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Pro wrestling historian, ring announcer, and columnist George Schire shares his new book, “Minnesota’s Golden Age of Wrestling” with an audience at Northwest Regional Library in Thief River Falls. Pioneer 90.1’s Glen Braget hosts this lively discussion of wrestling’s top personalities from 1954 through 1990. This podcast is made possible by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Bemidji, MN author Will Weaver wants to encourage more men and boys to read. The classic Winchester rifle on the cover of his new memoir, “The Last Hunter: An American Family Album,” may help him hit his target. Weaver discussed the art of the memoir and the future of publishing with Pioneer 90.1’s Mark Johnson at an appearance at Northland College in Thief River Falls. “Write On,” our series of conversations with Minnesota authors, is supported by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
