Saturday, November 22nd is “Frost Fest 2014” in Baudette, Minnesota. Scheduled events include a Craft Fair, Community Dinner and a Fish House Parade with lights, tree lighting, fireworks and more, with events taking place throughout the city.
Also this coming Saturday, the 22nd, “Christmas Extravaganza” will be held at the Eagles Club in Karlstad, Minnesota – with a 7:00 pm dinner and local, family entertainment to follow.
On Saturday the 22nd, the Kittson County Museum’s Annual Christmas Open House Craft & Bake Sale will be held from 10:00 am until 2:00 at the museum in Lake Bronson, Minnesota.
The Vase Project: Made in China – Landscape in Blue is now on display at the North Dakota Museum of Art, located on the UND campus in Grand Forks. The display is a conceptual work, consisting of 101 porcelain vases. The display is free to the public and will be available this Saturday and Sunday, the 22nd and 23rd from 1 until 5 pm at the NDMOA.
The Tony Award winning musical “Into the Woods” will be performed at the Burtness Theater at UND in Grand Forks, on Friday, November 21st and Saturday, November 22nd at 7:00pm.
“Family Day” is this Saturday at the North Dakota Museum of Art, from 10:00 am until noon – a free event for children and their families. Family Day is a time to encourage imagination and creativity in producing works of art, during the morning session.
Two events are scheduled this weekend at the University of Minnesota, Crookston campus. A Fall Music Concert, featuring the UMC Jazz Band, the UMC Choir, and the Crookston Community Band, will take place on Sunday, November 23rd at 2:00 pm in the Kiehle Auditorium. The concert is free. Also taking place at the U of M in Crookston, the fall musical production of “Next to Normal” will be performed on stage at Kiehle Auditorium, Friday, November 21st at 7:00 pm and Saturday, November 22nd at 2:00 pm.
The East Grand Forks Senior High School Drama Department is staging “Little Shop of Horrors” this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the 21st, 22nd and 23rd. Curtain time Friday and Saturday is 7:30 pm with a 2:00 pm matinee on Sunday.
The 56th Annual “Christmas City of the North Parade” will be held in downtown Duluth on Friday, November 21st at 6:20 pm.
• Saturday, November 8th, the Warren Jaycees are hosting a Holiday Open House from 9am until 3pm, in the Warren-Alvarado-Oslo High School Cafeteria.
• The Greater Grand Forks Community Theater children and adult members are performing “School House Rock and . . . Old School: Vaudeville” on Friday, November 7th and Saturday, November 8th at the Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks. More information at 777-4090.
• Also at the Fire Hall Theater, on Saturday, November 8th at 2 PM, it’s the second monthly Read Through. The script is “The Man with Bogart’s Face”, a comedy by Andrew Fenady. It’s free and open to the public.
• The Broadway musical “Elf” will be on stage at the Chester Fritz Auditorium, on the University of North Dakota campus in Grand Forks on Friday, November 7th at 7:30pm. For information call 777-4090.
• A musical potpourri, with everything from Classical to Dixieland to Jazz, will be performed by the Twin Forks Women’s Chorus….Sunday, November 9th at 5:00pm at the First Lutheran Church of East Grand Forks. The event is free and open to the public.

• The Drama Department of Sacred Heart High School in East Grand Forks presents the mystery “Sherlock Holmes” next Friday, Saturday and Sunday – November 14th, 15th and 16th in the Sacred Heart Auditorium. Friday and Saturday curtain time is 7:00pm with a Sunday matinee at 2:00pm.
• A “Gales of November” photography workshop will be held this weekend, November 7th, 8th and 9th in Grand Marais, Minnesota – along the shore of Lake Superior. More information at 218-370-8351.
The North Dakota Museum of Art is hosting their Autumn Art Auction and Social on Saturday, November 1st at the NDMOA, located on the University of North Dakota campus in Grand Forks. The cost is $40 for museum members and $50 for non-members. The social begins at 6:30 and the live auction begins at 8 o’clock Saturday evening.
Winner of the 1981 Pulitzer Prize, the tragic comedy, “Crimes of the Heart” will be performed at Central High School in Grand Forks on Friday, October 31st and Saturday, November 1st. Performance times each evening are 7:00 pm.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show – Live 2014 will be performed at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks, late night, Halloween night, Friday, October 31st and Saturday, November 1st. Doors open at 11:00 pm and the performances begin at 11:59pm.
The Greater Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra presents British-born pianist Simon Mulligan, performing Sunday, November 2nd at 2:00 pm at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks. “Nordic Mood” will also be featured. The “Nordic” Symphony is composed by Howard Hanson, Nebraska native of Swedish heritage.
The artwork of Seth Chwast and Dietrich Sieling called “Vivid” is on display this weekend at the Plains Art Museum in Fargo.
The Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks will host “School House Rock and Old School.” The opening performances are next weekend, November 7th and 8th. Performances each evening begin at 7:00 pm. More information at 746-0847.
“Switchfoot” an American alternative rock band from San Diego, California, will perform on stage at the Sanford Center in Bemidji, on Sunday, November 9th. Show time is 6:00 pm.
