Chris Kirchner is an art teacher from Warren, a sculpture artist and
teacher at Art Camp in Warren. He’s received a “Quick Turnaround
Grant” from the NWMAC. Chris has also received funding from the Arts
Council for Arts Equipment in the School at Warren.
Virgil Benoit, Spokesperson for “FrenchCanadianfran.org
gives details on the upcoming “Chautauqua & FrenchCanadian/Métis
Festival” August 24th through the 26th. The annual event
is held just east of Red Lake Falls, Minnesota at what’s known as the Old
Crossing (at Huot Park) where a treaty was signed between Native
Americans and the United States Government. He also credits the
NWMAC as a major supporter of the festival through grant funding.

The guest is Darcey Engen from the “Sod House Theater” group. Based in Minneapolis, they are performing two shows in Hallock – at the city park gazebo – on Wednesday and Thursday nights of this week. Showtime is 7:00 pm and will include community theater members from the Hallock area.
