love of teaching, woodworking art – to include a Grandfather clock – and
her winning the “Artist of the Year” award from the NWMAC at their
recent spring art exhibit in Badger, MN.

Guest: George French – Music and Theater Director at the University of
Minnesota/Crookston campus.
Topic: George discusses his music training and experience, his role at
the U of M – Crookston and his local/regional involvement with music
and the arts. George is the 2019 recipient of the NWMAC “North Star
Award.”

• The Grand Forks Community Theater presents “A Few Good Men”
at the Fire Hall Theater. Performances are on now, evenings, and
run through Tuesday April 2nd
.
• The Museum of Art in Grand Forks is sponsoring “Family Fun Day”
this Saturday the 30th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. The creative
event is free and open to all children and their care-givers. The
museum is located at UND in Grand Forks.
• The 2019 Basilica Block Party entertainment is set. Performers will
include Kacey Musgraves and Jason Mraz. Also, on stage
Semisonic, Ruston Kelly, Lissie and the Jayhawks. July 12th and 13th
are the dates for the live stage music at the Basilica of St. Mary in
downtown Minneapolis.
• Sunday, March 31st there’s a “Gospel Hymn Sing” at 3pm in the
Covenant Church of Lake Bronson, MN. Everyone is welcome to
attend.
• The North Dakota Ballet Company presents Wanderlust this
Saturday, March 30th at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand
Forks. Performance time is 7:00 pm.
Northwest Minnesota Arts Council: Director Mara Hanel (3/26/19)
Guest: Mara Hanel, Executive Director of the NWMAC shared details of the NW Art Exhibit in Badger, MN, “Of the Year”
awards and the Artist Reception on March 31st. She also promoted a current exhibit at the NWMAC Gallery in the Riverwalk Center of East Grand Forks, MN that highlights fiber and rosemaling works of art.
