The “Immigrant Interviews” DVD, sponsored by the Snorre Lodge of Sons of Norway is now available for sale. It features 15 local residents sharing the story of their ancestors who immigrated to Minnesota, and was featured on Sjoberg’s Cable TV the past six weeks.
The “Immigrant Interviews” DVD sells for $5 at Kezar Music and at the Northland Community & Technical College radio station studios, both in Thief River Falls.
Proceeds from this project will be added to the fundraising efforts of NCTC’s Pioneer 90.1 FM radio.
For the second consecutive year, Pioneer 90.1 is proud to present recordings of area band and choir concerts on Christmas day:
7 AM – Handel’s Messiah from Redeemer Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls
8 AM – Lincoln High School Orchestra, Thief River Falls
9 AM – Tri-County/Karlstad Band and Choir
10 AM – Greenbush-Middle River Band and Choir
11 AM – Lincoln High School Band, Thief River Falls
12 PM – Lincoln High School Choir, Thief River Falls
“The Music Room” Series on Pioneer 90.1 is made possible by the MN Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
The Pecka Band of Lawton, ND will be the featured guest at Pioneer 90.1’s annual Saturday Morning Barn Dance Christmas Party. The event takes place in the commons area of Northland Community and Technical College’s Thief River Falls Campus on Saturday December 13 from 8 am to noon.
Pioneer 90.1 will broadcast the event live, with a video webcast online at www.radionorthland.org.
This marks the eighth year that the Barn Dance Christmas Party has been hosted by Ron and Elsie Shereck of Tabor. The couple has announced that they will step down from their long-running polka and old-time music broadcast later this month.
The Pecka Band includes accordions, trumpet, sax, and drums.
The event is a fundraiser for Pioneer 90.1, Northland’s listener-supported public radio station. A freewill offering will be taken at the door.
