Thursday, September 28th through Sunday, October 1st

September 29th – October 1st ”Southern Hospitality” is being presented by the Middle River Community Theatre , will be held this Friday and Saturday evening at 7pm and Sunday, October 1st at 4pm. At the “Ye Olde Depot” Theatre in Middle River, MN. The production is part of this year’s Goose Fest in Middle River and is supported by the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council.
September 29th – October 1st 43rd Annual “Goose Festival” in Middle River, MN, with live music, food, games, parade and much more for the entire family – Friday through Sunday of this weekend.
September 29th & 30th The Greater Grand Forks Community Theater presents “The Charitable Sisterhood of the Second Trinity Victory Church.” Curtain time for the stage comedy is 7:00 pm Friday and Saturday at the Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks.
September 30th The Sacred Heart High School Athletic Club will be hosting the first ever “Living Way 5K & Chili Cook-Off.” The chili competition will be between the clergy of Holy Family and St. Mary’s of Grand Forks and Sacred Heart’s Clergymen from East Grand Forks. The event is at Sacred Heart School in East Grand Forks.
October 11th Norwegian Men’s Choir Concert at 7pm, with Kaiobert Johansen, Norwegian Trumpeter at the Northland College Auditorium in Thief River Falls.
October 22nd Northern Lights Concert Association will be featuring the Derik Nelson Family at 7:30pm in the Roseau, MN High School Theate

The NWMAC is helping to produce “Southern Hospitality”, on on-stage presentation by the Middle River (MN) Community Theater during “Goose Fest” days in Middle River. The annual, early October festival draws thousands of people from the Upper Midwest and across the country for the start of goose hunting season. Community Theater Director Candy Gram shares details of the performance and why funding from the NWMAC is so vital to the art and culture of northwest Minnesota.

FRIDAY, 22nd – As part of the Wildwood Concert Series, “Skoalmusik” will be featured at the event center on Gonvick, MN. The ensemble performs traditional Scandinavian and Scandinavian/ American dance and vocal music and begins at 7:00 pm. A German heritage dinner will precede the performance at 5:00 pm.
SATURDAY, 23rd & SUNDAY, 24th The Greater East Grand Forks-Grand Forks Community Theater presents “The Charitable Sisterhood of the Second Trinity Divinity Church.” Performance times at the Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks are Saturday night at 7:30, with a Sunday matinee at 2:00 pm.
FRIDAY, 22nd -SATURDAY, 23rd & SUNDAY 24th The first annual Greenway Takeover Festival (GTF) continues Friday through Sunday of this weekend. The four day music festival is on the Greenway, just north of the Sorlie Bridge in downtown Grand Forks. Each day, local, regional and headlining music will be featured – including the “Gear Daddies”, “Dead Man Winter” led by Dave Simonette of Trampled by Turtles, Shannon Curfman and Jozy Bernadette from “The Voice.” All of the performances are free.
SUNDAY, 24th The Greater Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra kicks off their season with “America the Beautiful” featuring music by Copland, Barber and Hanson. Guest performer is Ilan Morgenstern on the Bass Trombone. Tickets available at 746-5500. Performance time is 2:30 pm.
WEDNESDAY, 27th A special screening of the film “Beauty Bites Beast” will be held at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks. The showing begins at 7:00 pm with a Q & A session and reception to follow. More information at 746-5500.
