Thursday, October 19th through Sunday, October 22nd
October 20 & 21 The Northstar Quilters Guild will host “Quilting on the Red 2017” on Friday, October 20th and Saturday, October 21st at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks. Displays of handmade quilts and special exhibits will be featured from 10 am to 9 pm on Friday and 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday.
October 21 The region’s museum of art – the North Dakota Museum of Art (based at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks) will be holding their monthly “Family Day.” Family Day is a day where children of all ages and adults come together to work on projects that help us understand the Museum exhibit or learn about techniques and materials. The event is free to all children and their caregivers and runs from 10 am until 12 noon.
October 24 An appreciation event will be held for “ARTWISE” volunteer alumni at the Empire Arts Center in Grand Forks from 5 to 7:30 pm. ARTWISE is a yearly public display of artwork from schools in East Grand Forks, MN and Grand Forks, ND.
October 26 Derik Nelson & Family Musical Performance – TRF Entertainment Series. 7:30pm. Season Tickets Available at the door at the Lincoln High School Auditorium in Thief River Falls, MN.
October 27 The University of North Dakota All Voice Studio Recital – showcasing UND’s vocal students and their talents – will be held at the Hopper-Danley Spiritual Center on campus. More information at 777-2257. The performance is free and open to the public.
October 27 The Crookston Community Theatre presents “Jake’s Women,” a Neil Simon comedy at 7:30 p.m. in Kiehle Auditorium at the University of Minnesota – Crookston Campus. Tickets are $12 per p

Cathy Erickson discusses her love of music/background and her work as musician in northwest Minnesota. She also gave details on the funding for broadcast studio equipment in her home, provided through a grant from the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council (NWMAC) and the McKnight Foundation. The equipment allows her to continue broadcasting two music program on Pioneer 90.1 FM radio, reaching thousands of listeners each week. Her weekly Monday night “Variety Program” has been on the air for over 10 years – featuring polka, old-time and country music. She also hosts a weekly Sunday evening program called “Country Church”, with an emphasis on gospel music.

The guest is Deputy Director Matt Wallace.
George Schire and Glen Braget welcome Pro Wrestling Fan and writer Mike Mooneyham to the program to talk old school professional wrestling. Mooneyham’s weekly Sunday pro wrestling column has been a staple of the Post and Courier newspaper in the heart of Crockett Country, Charleston, South Carolina for over 30 years. George and Mike swap stories of what it was like to grow up a fan in pro wrestling’s Golden era of the 60’s and 70’s, long before the Internet when Kayfabe ruled.
