Ron West chats with Sarah Meisenge, Artist and Entrepreneur from Roseau, MN.  She established the “Little Swedish Shoppe” in Roseau to help promote Scandinavian-based art.

She talks about her “community” business and the assistance that she has received from the NWMAC to help promote the arts and culture within the region.

Connie Hannesson  received a quick turnaround grant from the NWMAC for a 1850s costume, for a re-enactment of Sarah Sibley. In 2018 she has given presentations at seven Minnesota schools, an assisted living facility, and the Crookston (MN) Public Library. She is also scheduled to do two additional appearances before the end of the year.

01 The Greater Grand Forks Community Theater presents “The Amish Project” on Saturday, December 1st at 7:30 PM and Sunday, December 2nd at 2:00 PM at the Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks. 01 “A Year with Frog and Toad” Theater Production – open to the public at 7:00 PM this Saturday in Kiehle Auditorium, at the University of Minnesota – Crookston campus. 02 Christmas Treasures at the Library 2pm. Christmas Readings & Music. @Roseau Public Library —Roseau

09 The UND Music Department presents “The American Songbook of Rodgers & Hammerstein” at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks. Performance time is 8:00 pm.

Author Jeanne Cooney applied for and received a grant from the NWMAC to attend a writer’s workshop at the College of St. Benedict (MN) and she discusses what the workshop is all about. She is also the author of the “Hot Dish Heaven” mystery series and discusses it origin and Theme.

NWMAC Board member Elwyn Ruud of Karlstad

Topic: Elwyn talks about her role and service as an NWMAC board member and shares details concerning the NWMAC “Artist in Residencies” program for regional schools. She coordinates those residencies with Compas Artists of Minneapolis, MN. Elwyn also works as the artist in residency in Northwest Minnesota schools and will be the artist at the Roseau (MN) School on November 27th of 2018.
