
Mara Wittman, Executive Director of the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council, and a group of northwest Minnesota residents will be traveling to the state capital in St. Paul to visit with elected lawmakers, concerning funding for the NWMAC and the work it supports, produced by regional artists, groups and schools. Mara talks about the visit with House and Senate members and of a deadline for applications to assist regional high school students who wish to attend summer art camps.

Crookston, MN artist Heather Sabian produces artwork that is both unique and unexpected. Her images are produced from “rubbings from gravestones”, which in turn are transformed into colorful works that hightlight life and and the multiple flavors of life. Heather describes her preference for art, her journey to her point of expertise and her work with gravestone etchings.
