The Music Room travels south on Highway 32 to introduce for the the first time to the music room, the Red Lake Falls School band department, under the direction of Lacie Hovland. I had the chance to recently travel to Red lake falls to record their Spring Band Concert. On this edition we will get a full sample of the Red Lake Falls public schools Elementary, junior and Senior high bands, Drumline, jazz band and a few solos thrown in as well.
The following was recorded April13 2015 at the Lafayette High School gymnasium in Red Lake Falls. The Red Lake Falls JH band will get things underway with their set featuring the selections Cups, barn dance, reflections and to get things underway Grease.

On this episode of the Music Room, enjoy the Thief River Falls Lincoln High School Orchestra and Symphony under the Direction of Derek Druse as they present their 2015 Winter Concert. The Orchestra will be performing selections from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the motion picture Braveheart. The Symphony performs two selections as well. Regional artist LaVonne Forsberg of Thief River Falls, the 2014 Northwest Minnesota Arts Council’s (NWMAC)“Star Artist of the Year”, currently has her works of watercolor paintings on display at the NWMAC Art Gallery and Shop in downtown East Grand Forks (River Walk Cinema). LaVonne shares her philosophy of painting, of artistic expression and her efforts to create expressive pieces on canvas and through her production of stained glass items.
