• The Empire Arts Center of downtown Grand Forks is having a “Family Day” on Saturday, July 18th, from 10 am to 12 noon. The day is to help celebrate Empire Theatre Company’s upcoming musical, Into the Woods. Children of all ages are invited to meet some of their favorite storybook characters, participate in games and crafts, and enjoy a sneak peek performance by the cast of Into the Woods. Admission is free.

• The North Dakota Museum of Arts’ 2015 Summer Concerts in the “Garden Series” continues on Tuesday, July 21st. Live music begins at 6 pm with headline performer Lydia Loveless on stage at 7 pm. The NDMOA is located on the UND campus in Grand Forks.

• The Summer Performing Arts of Grand Forks present “Once on this Island” at Red River High School in Grand Forks. Performances dates are July 24th through the 28th. Curtain time is 7 pm with a Sunday matinee at 2 pm.

• Always Lost: A Meditation on War art exhibit is now open to the public on the Northland East Grand Forks campus. The art exhibition is in the commons area of the campus until July 22nd.

• The Lake of the Woods County Fair runs this weekend through Sunday in Baudette, MN.

• The Pennington County Fair runs through this weekend as well, in Thief River Falls.

• Drayton, North Dakota’s “RiverFest” is July 16th through the 19th.

• The Roseau County Fair is scheduled for July 19th through the 24th in Roseau, MN.

• The Thief River Area Community Summer Theater presents “The Nerd” at the Northland Theater, July 20th through the 23rd. Curtain time is 7 pm.

• The Marshall County Fair in Warren, MN runs July 22nd through the 26th.

• The “Iron Man Car Show” is this weekend in Chisholm, MN.

• And the 80th Annual “Northwest Water Carnival” runs Friday through Sunday, this weekend, in Detroit Lakes, MN.
