• July 28th through July 30th – The community of Red Lake Falls “Summerfest.” Concessions – Dance – Parade – Car Show – Bingo – Entertainment – in Red Lake Falls.

• Sunday, July 31st – Karlstad Music at the Gazebo… Featuring Shane Olson. 4pm.

• Tuesday, August 2nd through Thursday, August 4th – The TRF Area Community Theater presents “Bye Bye Birdie.” Curtain time each evening is 7 pm at the Northland College Theater.

• Thursday, August 4th – The gazebo in the park summer concert series continues in Roseau, MN with a performance of regional bluegrass performers “Sloughgrass.” The music begins at 8 pm.

• Thursday, August 4th – A free movie in the park will be shown at the Floyd B. Olson Park in TRF. Movie time is 7pm at the gazebo.

Roseau Gazebo

A summer centerpiece in Roseau, MN is their large and attractive Nordic Gazebo. The platform serves as a source for live music every Thursday evening for city and area residents. Pam Hetteen of Roseau talks about the origin of the Gazebo, its use and how the NWMAC plays a vital role in attracting live music talent to the gazebo.

Community Calendar

• July 20th-24th – Marshall, Warren. The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council is sponsoring live music at the fair. Performing on Sunday, July 24th at the Vonasek Stage will be the Woodpicks bluegrass band, the Popple Ridge Pickers, playing gospel and bluegrass music and the Overtones – a regional gospel music group. All performances are free and open to the public.

• Friday, July 22nd through Tuesday, July 26th – The Summer Performing Arts Company (SPA) presents “Mary Poppins” at the Red River High School Performance Hall in Grand Forks

• Friday, July 22nd through Sunday, July 24th – it’s “Celebrate Kennedy Days.” Events include a 5K Run, Food, Games, live music and a street dance – all in Kennedy, Minnesota.

• July 27th through July 29th the TRF Area Community Theatre Production of “How to Eat Like a Child” will be onstage at the Northland Theater in TRF. Curtain time each evening is 7:00 pm.

• Wednesday, July 28th
 Friends & Neighbors Day from 4pm – 6pm in Karlstad, MN. There will be entertainment and refreshments & entertainment.
 Free Lutheran Church of Roseau is celebrating their 50th Year Anniversary. Scheduled are live music, a program and a picnic.
 Gazebo Park Concert 6:30 – 8pm Entertainment by Steve Hoffer & Friends.
 Floyd B Olson Gazebo Music in the Park. 7pm. Entertainment by Jordynn Johnsrud.

Retired northwest Minnesota farmer Paul Tandberg is an active member of the Thief River Falls (MN) Area Community Theater. The latest production of the organization is “Over the River and Through the Woods.” Paul discusses the organization, the production and his work within the artistic community in the region.
