“Weekly Arts Calendar”
Thursday, July 26th through Sunday, July 29th
 The Marshall County Fair in Warren, Minnesota is on now through Sunday, July 29th.
Among the many events, live music on the Vonasek Free Stage, to include: Four Wheel
Drive, The Jensen Sisters, the Woodpicks and the Overtones. There’s livestock exhibits,
demonstration, equine competition, midway and fireworks.
 The Becker County Fair is on now in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. The fair runs through
Saturday, July 28th. Events include a Demo Derby, exhibitions, demonstrations midway,
and live music. On Saturday a pancake and sausage breakfast will be served along with a
tractor parade.
 The Cats Incredible Catfish Days is Saturday, July 28th at the Red River in East Grand Forks.
Base camp is LaFave Park. This annual catfishing tournament brings in top anglers from all
over North America. In addition to the tournament, there’s games for kids, food vendors
and a beer garden.
 The “Blues on the Red” summer music series continues on Saturday, July 28th, featuring
Johnny Rawls and Joyann Parker. The event is from 5 until 10 pm at the Town Square in
downtown Grand Forks.
 The Overtones are performing on Thursday evening, August 2nd at the Riverview Park
Gazebo in Roseau, Minnesota.
 Also on Thursday, August 2nd “Live Music on the Lawn” featuring the “Downtown Horns”
from 7pm to 9pm in Stephen, Minnesota.
 August 3rd through the 5th is “Bronsonfest” at Lake Bronson, Minnesota. Featured is a car
show, parade, flea market, rodeo and live music.03-05

The guest is Darcey Engen from the “Sod House Theater” group.  Based in Minneapolis, they are performing two shows in Hallock – at the city park gazebo – on Wednesday and Thursday nights of this week.  Showtime is 7:00 pm and will include community theater members from the Hallock area.

Glen Braget chats with comic artist, illustrator and comic publisher Box Brown about his latest graphic novel about the life of Andy Kaufman titled: “Is This Guy For Real?: The Unbelievable Andy Kaufman.” Glen and Box discuss how one of the most fascinating entertainers in comedy and on tv got involved in the pro wrestling business before his death in 1984.
