Musician and artist Jeanne O’Neil of East Grand Forks, MN currently has an exhibit of her artwork at the River Walk Artist Gallery in East Grand Forks. The gallery is supported by the NWMAC. She discussed her art images and how the NWMAC has helped her to learn that craft through a NWMAC grant. Jeanne also talked about an upcoming performance of her band, the “North Country Fiddle and Dance” on Saturday, November 25, 2017 in East Grand Forks. The event is also a learning experience, where individuals and families have an opportunity to learn different dances including reels, squares, circle mixers and contras. Grant money from the NWMAC has also helped in providing the music and the lessons in dance.

Glen Braget welcomes former AWA announcer, “The Voice of Minnesota Pro Wrestling”, Mick Karch back to the program to reminisce about working for the AWA in 1987 and preview the upcoming Steel Domain Wrestling show happening November 18 in Richfield. Mick shares stories of working for Verne Gagne, the ESPN Las Vegas Showboat tapings, and some of the stars who were still a part of a promotion that was dealing with the nationwide expansion of the World Wrestling Federation. Thursday, November 16th through Sunday, November 19th

November 18th The North Dakota Museum of Art will hold their monthly “Family Day” at the NDMOA in Grand Forks – on the University of North Dakota campus. The free event runs from 10 until 12 noon for children and their care-givers.
November 17th – November 19th The Sacred Heart High School Drama Department presents “30 Reasons not to be in a Play.” Curtain time is 7:00 pm on the 17th and 18th, with a 2:00 pm matinee on the 19th at Sacred Heart School in East Grand Forks.
November 17th – November 19th Back again, the 2017 “Holiday Art Crawl” will be held where local artists open their homes and studios to the public. Each stop has award winning arts including painting, collage, pottery, carvings, jewelry, music and more! The event is free and offers treats, food and beverages. More information at 218-779-1174.
November 18th The Northern Valley Youth Orchestra will be in concert, performing “Inspired by Nature.” The concert begins at 3:00 pm at Grand Forks Central High School.
November 19th The Grand Cities Children’s Choir will perform at 3:00 pm at the Chester Fritz Auditorium at UND. The performance is free.
November 24th 25th & 26th Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” will be performed at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks.

Bonnie Stewart, President of the Fosston (MN) Community Library & Arts Association (FCLAA) discusses the history and mission of the FCLAA and an upcoming performance of “It’s a Wonderful Life – The Musical” in late November. Funding for many of the activities and events sponsored by the FCLAA are supported financially by the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council.
