Join Carl Unbehaun and Glen Braget as they present the many musical nuggets and treasures from the great state of Minnesota and Upper Midwest that were recorded in the 1950’s, 60’s & 70’s.

It’s a mixed bag, anything goes format for this edition of Minnesota Music Memories. On the first half of the show, Glen Braget spins a few lost tracks from the likes of the C.A. Quintet, The Litter, Fragile Zookeeper, Michael Yonkers and the Scotsmen. On the second half of the program, Carl Unbehaun shares with the listener his picks which include acts such as Gypsy, the Castaways, T.C. Atlantic, Gregory Dee & the Avanties, and the Unbelievable Uglies.

• A cheesy little musical about ice fishing in Wisconsin, called “Guys on Ice”, opens Thursday, February 12th at the Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks. Guys on Ice stars include Jeff McMahon, Zak Skaron, David Whitcomb and former Channel 8 newsman, Terry Dullum. Directed by David Kary and Marcus Woodard, Guys on Ice runs from February 12th to the 28th at the Fire Hall Theater. The phone number is 777-4090.

• “Arctic Blast 2015” Team Minnesota Viking vs Team TRF Flag Football will be held in Thief River on Friday, February 6th and Saturday, February 7th. There will be snowmobiling, tours of the Arctic Cat factory, and a concert by “Hairball.”

• A Gospel & Country Jam Session will be held on Sunday, February 8th from 2 until 5 pm at the Greenbush, MN Community Center.

• Winter Tracks, a 10-day family-friendly festival in Cook County and Grand Marais this weekend, February 7th and 8th.

• The Proctor Winter Carnival is being held this weekend in Proctor, Minnesota, just west of Duluth.
• An upcoming opening of an art exhibition is schedule for Sunday, February 15th at the North Dakota Museum of Art – based on the UND campus in Grand Forks. The exhibition is called “African Affair.” Over 120 sculptures include carved storage boxes, chief’s chairs, lidded wooden bowls, fertility objects, heddle pulleys, fetishes, shrine figures from a house of the ancestors, and masks will be on display. The exhibit is free, at the NDMOA.

• The “Sunday Concert in the Galleries Series” continues at the North Dakota Museum of Art on Sunday, February 22nd, with a performance of “Duo Cantabile”, with performance time at 2 pm.
