Pioneer 90.1 Arts Calendar for October 2nd through October 5th, 2014

Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot was voted the most significant English language play of the 20th Century and is being performed at the Burtness Theater on the campus of the University of North Dakota. Performances are Friday, October 3rd and Saturday, October 4th at 7pm.

The murder mystery theater “You have the Right to Remain Dead” continues this weekend at the Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks. Performances by the Greater Grand Forks Community Theater are Friday and Saturday the 3rd and the 4th at 7:30 pm.

The “Mother Goose Storybook Theater” continues on Saturday, October 4th at the Fire Hall Theater at 2pm. Space is limited to 14 children, ages 3-6.

The Greater Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra presents “Nordic Expressions”, at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks. The performance begins at 7:30 pm, Saturday, October 4th. Edvard Grieg’s most heartfelt chamber-music masterpieces will be featured.

The Myra Presents… Sunday Concerts in the Galleries 2014 at the North Dakota Museum of Art in Grand Forks. Sunday, October 5th at 2pm – Featured performers are the “Pacifica Quartet.” More information at ndmoa.com

Sunday, October 5th, there’s a dinner and a movie called “God’s Not Dead” at the United Free Lutheran Church in Greenbush. The Spaghetti Dinner begins at at 5pm and the movie at 7pm.

NW MN Arts Council Update Featuring Betsy Saurdiff 09/30/14

Betsy Saurdiff

Goodridge, Minnesota resident Betsy Saurdiff has taught art for over 30 years in the Goodridge – Grygla public school system. Her work in pottery has earned her awards and recognition as an established artist in northwest Minnesota. Betsy talks about her early exposure to art, her pottery and a current display at the Northwest Minnesota Art Council (NWMAC) Gallery – in East Grand Forks, MN and her gratitude for grant support from the NWMAC.
