The Ada Public Library will host the Share-A-Story Literacy Event on Wednesday, May 28 from 3 to 7 p.m. It’s being held at the Dekko Center in Ada and is free and open to the public. Activities will include arts and crafts, face painting, a scavenger hunt, computer games, entertainment and more.

The Spirit Room will host a reception for three artists at the Avalon Event Center in Fargo on Thursday May 29th from 2 until 4 pm. Works of the artists include; Tara Zolnikov’s “Changing Reality through Imagination,” Will Buchanan, and a work from Grace Clark called “Quiet Observations.”

The Greater Grand Forks Community Theater presents the popular Broadway musical, The Full Monty… coming to the Historic Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks. Co-produced by Mamma Maria’s Italian Restaurant of East Grand Forks, The Full Monty will be performed May 28th through May 31st and curtain time is 7:30.

Irish singer and dancer Daniel O’Donnell will perform at the Chester Fritz Auditorium in Grand Forks, on the UND campus – Thursday, May 29th at 7:00 pm.
The art work of Cindy Kolling of Gully, Minnesota is now on display at the River Walk Artists Gallery in downtown East Grand Forks. The gallery is operated by the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council and is located at the Riverwalk Center.

The musical “Forever Plaid” will be performed by the TRF Community Theater at the Northland College Theater in Thief River, on Tuesday, May 27th, Wednesday, May 28th and Thursday, May 29th. Performance times are 7:00 pm.

The Thief River Falls Community Theater will perform “Forever Plaid” in late May, at the Northland Community and Technical College theater in Thief River Falls, MN. Director Barb Geer of Middle River, MN discusses her experience in theater and the 1050’s based musical that brings back the velvet sound of harmony. She is also a board memebr of the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council.

Pioneer 90.1 to broadcast high school concerts Memorial Day

Pioneer 90.1 will broadcast recordings of four area high school band and choir concerts on Memorial Day morning. The recordings are part of a program called “The Music Room,” which airs at various times through the year.

Support for production comes from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

8 a.m. – Thief River Falls Lincoln High School Bands “A Spring Celebration Concert”

9 a.m. – Tri County High School 7th-12th Grade Spring Concert       

10 a.m. – Greenbush-Middle River High School Bands and Choir “I Am In Need of Music” Concert

11 a.m. – “Dream a Better World” featuring Thief River Falls Lincoln High School Choir

“Minnesota HomeBrew” is a weekly two-hour radio program dedicated to the music and musings of Minnesota singer-songwriters. The program is a collaboration with members of the Minnesota Association of Songwriters, and hosted by Carl Unbehaun.  Musicians are featured in telephone and in-studio interviews.
