Krueger writes a mystery series set in the north woods of Minnesota. His protagonist is Cork O’Connor, the former sheriff of Tamarack County and a man of mixed Irish and Ojibwe heritage. Krueger’s work has received a number of awards, including the Minnesota Book Award, the Loft-McKnight Fiction Award, the Anthony Award, the Barry Award, and the Friends of American Writers Prize. His latest book, “Northwest Angle,” was a 2012 Minnesota Book Award finalist. The twelfth book in his series, “Trickster’s Point,” will be released in August 2012.
Jill A. Johnson grew up in the tiny northwest Minnesota towns of Strandquist and Karlstad. Her lifelong affection for small towns is the inspiration behind a new book featuring 100 of Minnesota’s smallest communities.
