Glen Braget chat with Musician Mike Arturi, who was recently made an appearance in Thief River Falls at the public library to talk about his career in music and perform with audience members. Arturi is a lifelong professional drummer who has played with such legends as Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Del Shannon and is currently with the Lovin Spoonful. He is also the executive director and founder of Universal Music Center, a non-profit music school in Red Wing, Minnesota.

18 Enjoy a free screening of the movie “Black Panther” at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks.  The movie begins at 7:00 pm and is sponsored by the University Of North Dakota Department Of English.

19 Candlelight Ski & Snowshoe 5:30-8:30pm. Meet at Visitor Center. Snowshoes available for rent at office $6/night. Vehicle Permit Req. LB State Park —Lake Bronson.

20 Dwight Yoakam Concert at the Sanford Center in Bemidji, MN.  Showtime is 8:00 pm.

21 The 7th Annual Red River Valley Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be held at the University of Minnesota – Crookston Campus.  Events begin at 10:30 with a Unity Walk and end with a free lunch and social in the Brown Dining Room at UMC.

21 Martin Luther King Jr. Day – UND and the City of Grand Forks are coming together to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with art, music and a message from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at the UND Gorecki Alumni Center 3501 University Ave.

22 UND Art Collections Opening Reception at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks from 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM.

 

 

February 1st Deuces Wild Dueling Pianos featuring Michael Shynes at the Sanford Center in Bemidji, MN.  Showtime is 8:00 PM.

01 The Greater Grand Forks Community Theater presents “The Amish Project” on Saturday, December 1st at 7:30 PM and Sunday, December 2nd at 2:00 PM at the Fire Hall Theater in downtown Grand Forks. 01 “A Year with Frog and Toad” Theater Production – open to the public at 7:00 PM this Saturday in Kiehle Auditorium, at the University of Minnesota – Crookston campus. 02 Christmas Treasures at the Library 2pm. 09 The UND Music Department presents “The American Songbook of Rodgers & Hammerstein” at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks. Performance time is 8:00 pm.
